Statistical analysis of the touristic flow at the Castellana Caves

It is the degree thesis by Maria Antonia Vinella, that deals with a statistical analysis of the touristic flow at the Castellana Caves. Main aim of the publication was that of spreading degree theses concerning karst phenomena and the related problems, including those connected to the management of show caves.
This study was published in a important moment for the Castellana Caves, that had to face many problems such as pollution, the increasing number of tourists, the old way of management.
Some of these problems are present still today in many show caves.
Will it be feasible, sooner or later, to combine the exploitation of a touristic site with the safeguard of the hypogean environment?
